These Terms of Use explain how people may use the Stitch & Sole directory and related services.

By using the Stitch & Sole website, submitting an enquiry, requesting a listing update, or asking us to route a quote request, you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

Stitch & Sole is a directory helping Australians find shoe repairers, cobblers, recrafters, and leather repair services.

The directory may include business listings, suburb and city guides, service information, contact details, customer enquiry forms, and quote-request routing.

2. Directory information

We try to keep directory information accurate and useful, but listings may contain errors or become out of date.

A listing may be based on:

  • publicly available business information;

  • information supplied by the listed business;

  • information confirmed during outreach;

  • customer-facing sources such as business websites, directories, maps, or social profiles.

If you own or manage a listed business, you can ask us to correct, update, or remove your listing.

If you own or manage a listed business and do not want your business included in the directory, you can ask us to remove the listing. We aim to review and action reasonable update or removal requests within 7 business days. We may need to verify that you are authorised to act for the listed business before making changes.

3. No endorsement or guarantee

A listing on Stitch & Sole does not mean we guarantee, accredit, license, insure, or formally endorse that business.

If a listing is described as “claimed”, “confirmed”, or “verified”, that should only mean the stated listing details or business contact have been confirmed under the process explained on the website. It does not guarantee workmanship, pricing, availability, qualifications, insurance, licences, or service outcomes unless we expressly say otherwise.

Customers should make their own enquiries before engaging a repairer.

4. Free listings and optional paid features

Basic directory listings are free.

In future, Stitch & Sole may offer optional paid features, such as enhanced listings, claimed listings, verified-detail badges, promoted placements, or lead-management tools.

Paid features, if offered, will be clearly identified as optional. A business will not be charged merely because it appears in the free directory.

5. Customer enquiries and quote requests

If you submit a repair enquiry or quote request, we may forward the information you provide to one or more relevant repairers so they can respond to you.

We do not guarantee that:

  • a repairer will respond;

  • a repairer will accept the job;

  • any quoted price will be accurate or final;

  • the repair work will meet your expectations;

  • a repairer is available in your area.

Any agreement for repair work is between you and the repairer, not Stitch & Sole.

6. Business listing updates

If you submit information about a business listing, you confirm that:

  • the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;

  • you are authorised to request changes on behalf of the business, where relevant;

  • the information can be published on the Stitch & Sole website;

  • you will not submit false, misleading, offensive, unlawful, or infringing content.

We may refuse, edit, remove, or reverse listing changes at our discretion.

7. Photos, descriptions, and submitted content

If you submit photos, job descriptions, business details, logos, text, or other content, you grant Stitch & Sole permission to use that content as needed to operate the directory, process your request, communicate with repairers, improve listings, and maintain records.

You must not submit content that you do not have permission to share.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use the website to:

  • submit false, misleading, spammy, or abusive information;

  • impersonate another person or business;

  • scrape, copy, or republish the directory at scale without permission;

  • interfere with the website or its security;

  • use the directory for unlawful purposes;

  • harass listed businesses or customers.

9. Intellectual property

The Stitch & Sole website, directory structure, written content, design, and database compilation are owned by us or licensed to us.

You may use the website for ordinary browsing, customer enquiries, and legitimate business-listing updates. You may not copy, republish, or commercially exploit the directory as a competing database without permission.

Business names, logos, trademarks, and third-party content remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Third-party websites and services

The website may link to third-party websites, maps, social profiles, booking tools, payment providers, analytics tools, or repairer websites.

We are not responsible for third-party websites or services.

11. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or remove any part of the website or directory at any time.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with an effective date.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stitch & Sole is not liable for loss, damage, delay, poor workmanship, missed enquiries, inaccurate listing information, customer disputes, repair outcomes, or third-party conduct arising from use of the directory.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.
